We’ve been experiencing a fair amount of snow lately.  In some cases, it can be frustrating (events get cancelled).  In other cases, it can be fantastic (school gets cancelled).  In some cases, it can be dangerous (so many accidents).  Instead, I will focus on the beauty.  This picture was taken by Margaret Hache on 6 February 2015, and it shows nature as a beautiful canvas.  What makes it so interesting for us (asides from the artistic B&W aspect) is that there are no track in the snow.  Usually, there would be squirrel, racoon, or even deer tracks, but not today.  Perhaps it was too cold outside for the critters (after all, Shubenacadie Sam saw his shadow less than a week ago), but I prefer to think that we were given an opportunity to enjoy the stillness and beauty of nature.

Of course, the irony is that while Margaret was taking this picture in the backyard, I was busy using the snowthrower attachment on the lawn tractor to move the snow halfway across the front yard… not a quiet (or peaceful) evolution…
