Jim Iker brings new style of leadership to B.C. teachers’ union by Janet Steffenhagen at Vancouver Sun on 18 March 2013.

The subtitle – “BCTF elects soft-spoken Iker to replace fiery Susan Lambert” – that’s a rather provocative line there…

Why would a group select a different leader, especially one who appears to be rather different?  Is it a matter of being tired of a former leader? Liking another leader more? Just wanting change (“war-weary union” in article)?

The observations in this article also extend to politics.
